Printing the limited edition prints for the event starting Monday! Working on postcards as well.. Our sponsor, L’etoile Magazine, has been cool and added a banner for the 2009 event to the L’etoile blog – check it out!
You should have received an update email with information on getting your custom toys + prints in for the show – Please contact us if you have any last minute questions or did NOT get an update.
Also – If you get a second – send us a snapshot of your toy / print we’ll post a sneak peek on the site :)

RIFT, Mineapolis’ favorite music mag, is our newest sponsor for the 2009 event! Visit RIFT online for great reviews and coverage of the local music scene.
Local purveyors of cool, l’étoile Magazine definitely has our go-to blog when trying to figure out what to do on the weekends – so of course we’re thrilled to have them join the TITA 09 sponsor lineup!
Our toy from Kit Lane just arrived and we can’t believe how cool this thing is! Not to completely spoil the surprise – here’s a peek:

We’re happy to have our favorite local ink shop, Uptown Tattoo, added to our list of sponsors supporting the 2009 Toy Drive / Art Exhibition! We noticed they have a new tattooer in there, too – Dan Kytola :) He probably has some spaces open, so give him a call and set something up!

Some of our 2009 participants are going to be showing at the annual open studio art crawl, which takes place at the Northrup King Building [Map]

We’d like to welcome two new local sponsors for the 2009 event:
Drive Thru is a highly-creative, full-service production and post facility headquartered in Minneapolis. A place where ideas thrive, talent is cultivated and drive is a big part of the formula. www.drivethrutv.com
We’ve been delivering a variety of vintage and collectible toys to happy customers all over the world for 20 years. We specialize in robots and space toys, and also carry a full line of other hard to find cool toys that appeal to everyone! [Located in the Northrup King Building, 3rd Floor] www.mainstreettoys.com
We love our sponsors (they make our events possible) please visit their sites!
This year, the great folks at Marine Toys for Tots Foundation Minneapolis have added the TOYS IN THE ATTIC event to their calendar :) Which means we’ll also get an official Toys for Tots drop box and a Marine or two..
Please remember to help out children in need by bringing a new (unwrapped) toy to the show. In return, you’ll get one of the event official poster prints designed this year by Minneapolis artist Lonny Unitus.*
If you forget your toy, there is a suggested donation of $1-$5 at the door. All toys and door donations go directly to Toys for Tots. In addition, 25% of poster print and custom toys sales are also used to purchase new toys for the Toys for Tots program, which distributes the toys to children in need.
*No military based toys such as guns, please / *While supplies last
We’ve added some information for participating artists to the site – If you’re dropping off / sending in poster prints / custom toys work for the show please go here to download the info sheet (work form) and get other information.
Color in the TOYS IN THE ATTIC 2009 color book page and send it back to info [at] toysintheatticshow [dot] com for a chance to win a free copy of the official TITA 2009 poster print.
Click the image to download the color book page PDF. Include your name and web link if you want it displayed here.
Thanks to Lon Unitus for the color book art!
As you can see, the new website is nearly complete & work has begun on the Toys in the Attic 2009 event.
We’re happy to confirm that the venue for 2009 will be the Soo Visual Art Center. This is a larger venue than last year and a nice Uptown location for the event – tons of (free) parking, on-street and off-street and Bob’s across the street to keep us caffeinated.
The main event will take place on Friday December 4th, from 6pm-9pm – and Suzy has been exceptionally cool and offered to let us sell any remaining prints on Saturday afternoon.
We’re just getting started and there’s much more to do but the first artist confirmations are coming in.. If you’re interested in participating this year, contact us and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
